We already knew what ASA filament is, and its widely applicable scenarios. Now for the printing part. Many users always get failed ASA prints due to kinds of factories rather than the material itself, such as uneven cooling, inappropriate temperature, etc. It’s time to get to know the ASA filament optimal printing setup.

Before diving into printing, we need to adjust to the correct setup for a better outcome.
ASA Filament Hardware Setup
- Enclosed printer: Key factor, maintains stable temperature and reduce warping.
- Bed temperature: 80-100°C to minimize warping and enhance adhesion.
- Nozzle Size/Material: 0.2/0.4 (recommended)/0.6/0.8mm; All-metal hotend if possible for better effect.
- Chamber Temperature: Keep the temperature around 50°C.(slightly adjust depending on printer settings, environment and enclosure situations.)

Recommended Setup for iSANMATE ASA
| Component | iSANMATE ASA Standard |
| Nozzle Temperature | 260-270°C |
| Cooling Fan | 0-70% |
| Printing speed | <80mm/s |
| Ambient Temperature | 50-60°C, enclosure |
| Retraction | 0.6-1.0mm |
| Retraction speed | 20-40mm/s |
| Bed Adhesion Method | 1 PET sheet (smooth/textured) 2 Addressed with PVP solid glue stick 3.80-100℃ bed temperature |
The above printing settings are stable starting points tested on a 0.4mm nozzle and enclosed Bambu Lab P1S. Print quality may vary depending on the specific situation.

Why ASA Prints Well with the Right Setup
Proper ASA printing settings can fully utilize the capabilities of materials. And using iSANMATE ASA filament will get the below results
✔ High impact resistance: Functional parts
✔ Strong UV and chemical resistance: Excellent outdoor performance
✔ Water resistance: Stable in wet or humid conditions
✔ Anti-static properties: No dust adhering
✔ Low-gloss finish: clean, matte surface with fewer layer lines for a professional look
Post-Processing and Storage
Removal: Cooling the print bed below 40°C, the parts will fall off on their own, or slightly bend the PEI board. Remember, do not pull on the parts on the base plate hard.
Storage: ASA absorbs less moisture, but still needs proper storage. For long-term storage, keep it in a sealed bag with desiccant to maintain better performance.
Drying: If the ASA filament has been exposed to humid air for over 24 hours, it’s recommended to dry 5-8 hours at 60-70°C before printing.
