Test 1: Printing Speed Comparison

One of the biggest differences between PLA Basic and High-Speed PLA is printing efficiency. To compare their real-world performance, we printed the same model using identical settings on the same printer.

Both materials were tested on the same printer using identical slicer settings and print parameters.

Results

Under identical print settings. High-Speed PLA completed the test model in 1 hour 49 minutes, while PLA Basic required 2 hours. High-Speed PLA completed the print about 11 minutes faster than PLA Basic, and no print defects were observed on either model.

What This Means

For users printing a single model occasionally, an 11-minute difference may not significantly change the printing experience. But those time savings become increasingly valuable when printing multiple parts, large models, or running continuous production.

Test 3: Fine Detail Comparison

Fast printing is useful only if the final model still looks good.

To evaluate fine-detail reproduction, we printed a model featuring text with sharp corners and fine grooves. Fine-detail performance is especially important for miniatures, display models, mechanical components, and decorative prints, where small features directly affect the final appearance.

Results

Both filaments reproduced fine details successfully. Text remained clean, and grooves were well defined on both prints.

Compared to High-Speed PLA, PLA Basic showed a slightly rougher surface with minor stringing, although the differences were relatively small in normal viewing conditions.
